banten.jpnn.com, SERANG – The Head of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office (BI) of Banten Province, Ameriza Ma’ruf Moesa, stated that the economic growth throughout 2023 in the Land of Jawara was driven by household consumption.

“Household consumption accounts for 52.47 percent of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) data,” said Ameriza on Tuesday (13/2).

In addition to household consumption, he said, economic growth is also boosted by the distribution of government social assistance (bansos).

“This increase is driven by community mobility during religious holidays and the new year celebrations,” he explained.

However, according to Ameriza, economic growth in Banten is considered slow compared to 2022, which grew by 5.03 percent year on year (yoy).

“Meanwhile, throughout 2023, the economy in Banten grew by 4.81 percent yoy or reached Rp 814.12 trillion,” he said.

He explained that the decline in economic growth in Banten was caused by several factors such as el nino and exports.

Nevertheless, according to Ameriza, the economic growth in Banten can still be considered good.

The Head of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office in Banten Province assesses that the economic growth in Banten in 2023 has slowed down due to the impact of el nino and exports.
