Every autumn, major tech companies reveal their latest hardware ahead of the holiday season. Recently, Apple hosted its flagship event, named “Glowtime,” where it introduced the highly anticipated iPhone 16 series, Apple Watch Series 10, redesigned AirPods, and more. Aside from showcasing the hardware, Apple also introduced some new software features, including health offerings and artificial intelligence (AI).

1. iPhone 16 series
The iPhone 16 lineup, which includes the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone Pro Max, took center stage at Apple’s event. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are available in vibrant new colors like ultramarine, teal, and pink, in addition to white and black. Changes to the phones’ appearance include a rear camera bump, camera alignment, and two new buttons – a customizable Action button and a Camera Control button with touch-capacitive sensors. The phones maintain 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screens, respectively.
The new phones feature upgraded camera systems, a customizable Action button, a Camera Control button, and a new A18 processor to power the latest features driven by generative AI. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will be available for preorder on September 13, starting at $799 and $899, respectively, with a minimum storage capacity of 128GB.
The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max boast larger displays, Super Retina XDR displays, Camera Control, and the A18 Pro chip. The Pro models are available for preorder on September 13, starting at $999 and $1,099, respectively, with a minimum storage capacity of 128GB.
2. Apple Watch Series 10
The Apple Watch Series 10 received a noticeable redesign, featuring a thinner design and a larger screen than its predecessor. It includes fast charging, up to 18 hours of battery life, and Apple’s first wide-angle OLED display. New features of the Series 10 include sleep apnea notifications, audio playback through new speakers, background noise reduction during calls, and a built-in depth gauge and water temperature sensor. The Apple Watch Series 10 starts at $399 and is available for preorder now.
3. AirPods 4
Apple introduced two new AirPod models – Apple AirPods 4 and AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation. Both models feature an H2 chip, improved sound quality, Personalized Spatial Audio, voice isolation, gesture-based Siri controls, and a USB-C charging case. The AirPods 4 with ANC will cost $179, while the standard AirPods 4 will cost $129. Both models are available for preorder now.
4. Apple Intelligence updates
Apple highlighted its in-house generative AI features, Apple Intelligence, which was initially introduced at the Worldwide Developers Conference. The company showcased how Apple Intelligence will enhance user experiences, such as auto-writing, proofreading, emoji generation, and Visual Intelligence – Apple’s version of Google Lens. Visual Intelligence will be accessible through the Camera Control option on the new iPhone 16 lineup later this year.
