I appreciate the simplicity of finding and installing Linux programs through the Mint Software Manager without the need for complex shell commands. The user-friendly interface, with easily accessible settings shortcuts, makes using Mint a breeze.
I currently use the default Cinnamon desktop environment in Linux Mint 22, which offers a polished and intuitive experience. Notably, Linux Mint continues to prioritize out-of-the-box usability, with improvements in the Software Manager and multimedia capabilities. The inclusion of PipeWire as the default sound server enhances audio control, while the Pix image viewer now supports JPEG-XL images.
Mint 22 is built on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, ensuring compatibility with modern hardware and providing a stable environment with long-term support until 2029. The distribution includes essential software like LibreOffice, Thunderbird, GIMP, and Firefox, with the option to easily install preferred programs through the Software Manager.
