Prakhar Khanna from ZDNET recently reviewed the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, the latest flagship model from Google. In his comparison with the iPhone 15 Pro, Khanna noted that while the two phones differ in pricing and size, they both feature the same camera setup. After spending time shooting and comparing photos with both phones, Khanna found that the Pixel 9 Pro excelled in capturing accurate skin tones, particularly in tricky lighting situations.

The primary cameras on both the Pixel 9 Pro XL and iPhone 15 Pro offer great image quality in daylight, with the Pixel producing more realistic skin tones. Portrait shots taken with the Pixel showcased better skin tone representation compared to the iPhone. Khanna also highlighted the differences in the telephoto capabilities of the two phones, noting that the Pixel’s 5x telephoto lens provided good skin tones and details, even in challenging lighting scenarios.

In terms of indoor and low-light photography, Khanna preferred the Pixel 9 Pro XL over the iPhone, as the Google phone produced brighter shots with more detail. The Pixel also outperformed the iPhone in low-light situations, capturing more light to produce clearer images. When it came to selfies, Khanna noted that the Pixel 9 Pro XL offered impressive results, with the iPhone occasionally blowing out highlights.

Overall, Khanna’s comparison highlighted the strengths of the Pixel 9 Pro XL in capturing accurate skin tones, details in challenging lighting conditions, and low-light photography. While the iPhone 15 Pro held its own in certain areas, such as indoor lighting, the Pixel emerged as a strong contender for those looking for superior camera performance.
