Payne had opened up about his struggles with addiction and mental health, sharing that he had been sober for nearly six months before his passing. He had used alcohol as a coping mechanism for the pressures of fame and had sought therapy to improve his relationship with alcohol.

Anxiety also plagued Payne, leading to agoraphobia at one point in his career. He found solace in going for early morning runs to manage his anxiety. Despite his battles, Payne was focused on being a great father to his son, Bear.

The loss of Liam Payne has left a void in the music world, with fans mourning the talented artist. His struggles with addiction and mental health serve as a reminder of the importance of seeking help and taking care of oneself.
