Inilah Danau Lunar – Chip laptop AI Intel yang sepenuhnya direnovasi yang meninggalkan stik memori

“Last year, Intel proudly announced that its Meteor Lake processors, known as Core Ultra, marked the company’s most significant architectural change in 40 years. However, Intel did not stop there: today, they are unveiling details about Lunar Lake, their upcoming laptop chip set to launch this fall, which will revolutionize their approach once again. In response to the threat from Arm and the rise of AI-powered PCs, Intel has decided to move away from their traditional tick-tock cadence and introduce a new system-on-chip design. This new design not only significantly increases the size and performance of the AI accelerator but also promises a 14 percent boost in CPU performance at the same clockspeed, 50 percent more graphics performance, and up to 60 percent longer battery life compared to last year’s model. Intel claims that Lunar Lake will outperform Qualcomm as well.

The most notable change in Lunar Lake is the integration of 16 or 32GB of LPDDR5X memory directly into the chip package, eliminating the need for separate memory components. This change reduces power consumption by 40 percent according to Intel. For users who require more memory, a separate Arrow Lake architecture will be available for laptops later this year.

After extensive research and discussions with Intel’s technical marketer Rob Hallock, it has been revealed that Lunar Lake will feature an 8-core design without hyperthreading. The previous LP-E cores have been replaced by a new 4 by 4 system featuring four “Lion Cove” P-cores and four “Skymont” E-Cores. These changes aim to improve battery life and efficiency compared to the previous generation. Additionally, Intel has eliminated Hyper-Threading due to power consumption concerns.

Intel promises significant performance improvements in Lunar Lake, with the Skymont E-core offering up to 20 percent more single-threaded performance compared to last year’s P-core. The Xe2 GPU is said to deliver 1.5x the graphics performance of Meteor Lake, with 67 TOPS of AI performance. The NPU hardware has also been tripled, offering up to 48 TOPS of AI acceleration.

Other notable features of Lunar Lake include native support for H.266 VVC video, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and a new Partner Security Engine on the chip. Intel plans to release a variety of Lunar Lake laptops later this year, with 80 different designs across 20 hardware partners. Overall, Lunar Lake represents a significant leap forward in performance and efficiency for Intel.”
