Analisis: Hamas Mendapat Pukulan Berat dari Israel, Namun Belum Menyerah di Gaza | Berita Konflik Israel-Palestina

A few days before the ceasefire in Gaza went into effect, former US Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke at the Atlantic Council in Washington, DC. He had been instrumental in supporting Israel’s military campaign against Gaza, which human rights organizations have condemned as genocidal, resulting in the deaths of at least 47,300 Palestinians. Despite Israel’s goal of defeating and eliminating Hamas, Blinken noted on January 14 that Hamas had managed to recruit nearly as many new fighters as it had lost, potentially leading to a prolonged insurgency.

While Hamas had suffered significant losses during the conflict, experts believe that the organization has not been completely eradicated and still maintains a presence in Gaza. Despite the destruction, Hamas has showcased its strength during the handover of Israeli captives and the resumption of civil administration activities in the region. Hamas’s ability to maintain control in Gaza and negotiate a ceasefire agreement with Israel demonstrates its resilience and determination.

Although the exact number of Hamas fighters killed during the war is unclear, Hamas has been able to replenish its ranks with new recruits. The organization’s adaptability and ability to withstand Israeli attacks have allowed it to continue functioning as a military and political force. Despite some dissenting voices within Gaza, Hamas’s popularity has remained relatively stable, with some residents expressing increased support for the group following the conflict.
