Saya sedang membangun rumah pintar impian saya – inilah 5 hal yang saya pilih pertama kali

As a seasoned nomad with my wife Judy, we have lived in eight homes across five states in the past 30 years. And now, as we prepare to embark on yet another move to a brand-new state, the excitement and stress of relocation are once again at the forefront of our minds.

Moving offers a fresh start and the chance to explore a new community, meet new neighbors, and declutter our lives of unnecessary belongings. But this move is different. Our next home is being built from the ground up, allowing us to integrate the latest technology as we transition into the future of smart living.

In our current home, we have been fortunate to have access to high-speed internet from Comcast and Google Fiber. However, our new community is already wired for fiber, with some neighbors using AT&T Fiber, offering speeds of up to 5 Gbps. This advanced infrastructure will allow us to seamlessly integrate smart technology into our daily lives.

From smart lighting to energy-efficient solutions, our new home will be equipped with cutting-edge features. We have opted for a unified smart lighting system from Deako, making it easy to control every switch in the house through a single app. This modular design eliminates the need for extensive rewiring, simplifying the installation process.

Energy efficiency is also a top priority, with our home designed to run on electricity and pre-wired for solar panels and a backup battery. We plan to install these sustainable energy solutions shortly after moving in, further reducing our carbon footprint.

Home security is another essential aspect of our smart home setup, with a simple Alarm.com system and a smart video doorbell to provide peace of mind. And to tie everything together, we have chosen Google Home as our central hub for controlling all smart devices with voice commands.
