Google’s Pixel phones are known for their excellent camera quality and sleek design. But it’s not just the hardware that sets them apart – Google’s software updates play a crucial role in keeping these phones ahead of the competition. With updates every few months, new features are constantly being added to the Pixel lineup.
Currently, Google offers seven different Pixel models, ranging from the affordable $349 Pixel 6A to the premium $1,799 Pixel Fold. And the best part is, many of these new features are also available on older Pixel devices, so you don’t necessarily need to upgrade to the latest model to enjoy them.
One of the latest features introduced by Google is Circle to Search, which allows you to quickly search for any object on your screen by simply drawing a circle around it. This feature is exclusive to the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.
Another useful feature is the ability to look up unknown phone numbers directly from your call log, available on the Pixel Fold and Pixel 6 and later models. Additionally, the Pixel 8 Pro is equipped with a temperature sensor, allowing you to measure objects and even take your body temperature with the Thermometer app.
For photography enthusiasts, the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro come with features like Best Take, which lets you change a person’s expression in a photo, and Magic Editor, which allows you to move and resize objects in a photo. These editing tools are also available for those with a Premium Google One plan.
Other handy features include macro focus for close-up photos, creating cinematic wallpapers from your photos, adding captions to videos with Live Caption, and snapping photos by simply raising your hand. And if you have older photos that need a little touch-up, the Photo Unblur feature can help sharpen them up.
No matter which Pixel model you have, there are plenty of tips and tricks to help you get the most out of your device. Whether you’re interested in photography, productivity, or just having fun with your phone, Google’s Pixel phones have something for everyone.
