“Hello, friends! Welcome to Installer No. 66, your go-to source for the latest and most innovative products in the world. If you’re new here, happy 2025! You can catch up on previous editions on the Installer homepage. This week, I’ve delved into topics like loneliness, Web3 scams, and the future of procedural TV. I’ve also enjoyed watching Deadpool & Wolverine on a flight, revisiting Severance and Squid Game in anticipation of their second seasons, and eagerly anticipating the return of Kids Baking Championship. As for news, I’ve been testing out an Apple News Plus subscription.
In this edition of Installer, I have a comprehensive report from CES in Las Vegas. This edition is a bit different from the usual, as there were so many new products and launches at CES that it’s hard to know which ones will actually hit the market. I’ve selected items that I believe will be available soon and worth your investment, although I may be wrong about a few. My thoughts are with those affected by the fires in LA and elsewhere this week.
As always, I value your suggestions and recommendations. What are you currently enjoying? What games, books, shows, apps, or Lego creations should everyone know about? Share your thoughts with me at [email protected]. If you know someone who would enjoy Installer, please pass it along and encourage them to subscribe.
This week’s highlights from CES include:
1. LG StanbyME 2
2. The Circular Ring 2
3. Nvidia Project Digits
4. The Roam SodaTop
5. The Lenovo Thinkbook Plus Gen 6
6. The Samsung Frame Pro
7. The Wonder Petal
8. The Flic Duo
9. The SwitchBot Multitasking Household Robot K20 Plus Pro
10. The Amazfit Active 2
11. The Razer Handheld Dock Chroma
In other news, the blogging and social media landscape is evolving rapidly. Platforms like Micro.blog, Micro.one, and others offer new ways to engage online. Manton Reece’s Micro.one, for example, provides a personal blog with fediverse integration for just $1 a month.
On a personal note, Manton shared his iPhone homescreen setup and current interests, including the book “Wind and Truth” by Brandon Sanderson and the ChatGPT app for Mac.
I hope you enjoy this edition of Installer and find some exciting new products to explore. Stay safe and keep sharing your ideas and recommendations with me. Have a great week!”
