Pria berusia 30 tahun meninggalkan Amerika Serikat untuk Budapest—membayar $560/bulan untuk apartemen 1 kamar tidur

Denae McGaha’s near-death experience during a tornado in Alabama inspired her to move halfway across the world to Budapest, Hungary. After losing her father in the tornado, McGaha found solace in travel and decided to pursue her dreams of exploring the world.

With a strong desire to keep traveling and experiencing new things, McGaha saved up $4,000 and made the move to Budapest with just a single suitcase. She initially worked as a teacher, but after being laid off due to Covid-19, she transitioned into a career as a freelance travel writer and digital marketing strategist.

Despite the challenges of being far from her family and adjusting to a new culture, McGaha finds joy in her life in Budapest. She enjoys exploring the city, trying new foods, and building a community of friends and colleagues. She has found financial stability on a budget of less than $40,000 a year and is grateful for the opportunities living in Budapest has provided her.

Overall, McGaha feels fulfilled and content with her decision to move abroad, and while she is open to the possibility of returning to the United States in the future, for now, she is happy to call Hungary her home.
