FTC menggugat Uber atas langganan Uber One yang ‘menyesatkan’

Struggling to cancel your Uber One subscription? You’re not alone, according to the U.S. government.

The Federal Trade Commission filed a lawsuit against Uber, accusing them of deceptive billing and cancellation practices related to their premium subscription service, Uber One.

Customers have reported being unknowingly charged $9.99 per month for Uber One, with some stating they never signed up for the service. The FTC alleges that Uber misled consumers about the savings provided by the subscription.

The FTC also claims that Uber made it difficult for customers to cancel their subscriptions, despite advertising that it could be done at any time with no additional fees.

The lawsuit further accuses Uber of using “dark patterns” to make it easy to sign up for Uber One but incredibly difficult to cancel, requiring up to 32 actions to do so.

Uber disputes the allegations, stating that their sign-up and cancellation processes are clear, simple, and compliant with the law.
