Lebih Banyak Elektronik Meledak di Lebanon Saat Israel Menyatakan ‘Fase Baru’ Perang

In the wake of unprecedented explosions targeting pagers belonging to Hezbollah members, a new wave of blasts has struck Lebanon, this time targeting walkie-talkies used by the Iran-backed militant group. While Israel has not claimed responsibility for the attacks, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has declared a “new phase” of the war with a focus on the northern front. Reports from the Lebanese health ministry indicate that 14 people were killed and over 450 wounded in the explosions that hit multiple cities across Lebanon. The Lebanese Red Cross deployed numerous ambulances to the affected areas to assist with rescue and evacuation efforts.

These attacks, similar to those targeting pagers the previous day, appear to have been orchestrated to disrupt Hezbollah’s communication capabilities. The explosions, described as “small in size,” have caused significant casualties and damage. Photos and videos from the incidents show various broken and burnt communication devices, including walkie-talkies, radios, and fingerprint readers.

There are reports that Israel may have tampered with these electronic devices before they fell into Hezbollah’s hands, leading to their explosive nature. The attacks have raised concerns internationally, with the U.N. Secretary-General warning of a potential escalation in Lebanon. The European Union has also expressed alarm at the collateral damage caused by the detonations.

As tensions escalate, there are indications that Israel may be preparing for a more concerted campaign against Hezbollah. Israeli military officials have hinted at further action, with plans in place for additional strikes. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to protect Israeli citizens along the northern border with Lebanon, indicating a potential escalation in the conflict.
