While Apple has moved towards smaller all-in-one PCs, HP has taken a bigger-is-better approach with its new OmniStudio X line. Available with either a 27- or 31.5-inch display, we tested the latter and found the display to be massive and sharp with its 4K resolution. Despite the large panel, the OmniStudio X remains compact and the design is sturdy yet flexible.
Powered by Intel’s Core Ultra CPUs from the Meteor Lake family, our test system featured a GPU upgrade for enhanced 3D gaming capabilities. The mobile GeForce RTX 4050 GPU offers performance comparable to a budget gaming laptop. However, the high price tag reflects the value of the expansive 31.5-inch 4K display.
The OmniStudio X at Best Buy, priced at $1,980, features an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H, 32GB of RAM, GeForce RTX 4050, and a 1TB SSD. A smaller 27-inch version is available for $1,480. Configuring the system at Lenovo or HP can cost over $2,200.
The OmniStudio X offers better performance than other smaller all-in-one PCs, like the Dell Inspiron 24 or Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 27, thanks to its dedicated GPU. However, the Apple iMac M4 outperforms the OmniStudio X on all tests. The RTX 4050 GPU provides improved graphics capabilities, allowing for some gaming, although the 60Hz display may limit gaming experience.
The design of the OmniStudio X is simple yet flexible, with a wide range of ports available. The display offers sharp images and text on its 4K panel, providing a great viewing experience for both work and entertainment.
Overall, the HP OmniStudio X 31.5-inch All-in-One offers a large, high-quality display and strong performance, making it a valuable option for those in need of a big-screen all-in-one PC.
