Pencarian Makanan Harian di Gaza

In the war-torn region of Gaza, where two million people are struggling to find enough food to eat, the daily search for sustenance is a grim reality for many families. Amany Mteir, 52, scours the streets north of Gaza City in search of food, while Aseel Mutair, 21, and her family of four rely on aid kitchens for their meals. Nizar Hammad, 30, is sheltering in a tent in Rafah with eleven others, working odd jobs to afford basic supplies like rice.

As the conflict in Gaza enters its sixth month, the risk of famine looms large, according to the United Nations. The destruction of agriculture and restrictions on food imports have left nearly the entire population dependent on humanitarian aid. Aid groups are struggling to deliver supplies to the region, with U.N. agencies facing challenges in providing assistance to the most vulnerable areas.

Families like Aseel’s and Amany’s are resorting to desperate measures to feed themselves, with limited access to food and rising prices making the situation increasingly dire. Aseel’s family often relies on khubeiza leaf soup and pita bread made from barley and corn flour, while Amany’s family survives on tea and a broth made with water and chicken bouillon cubes.

In Rafah, Nizar’s family has seen aid deliveries dwindle, forcing them to ration their remaining supplies. The situation is dire, with Nizar lamenting the loss of his wedding savings and the rising cost of food in the makeshift markets. Children in the region are also feeling the effects of the food crisis, waiting for hours at charity kitchens for a meager meal.
