Students at Eindhoven University in the Netherlands created a solar-powered off-road camper in 2018, beating BMW’s iVision Circular concept car at the 2021 international motor show. The camper, named Stella Terra, can travel 621 miles on a single charge and reach speeds of up to 60 mph. The students, who have a history of building eco-friendly concept cars, spent a year designing and building the camper, which is powered entirely by solar panels. The project required innovative solutions to challenges such as weight reduction, power management, and durability. Despite facing technical issues during a test drive in Morocco, the students proved that their solar-powered camper was a viable and efficient mode of transportation.
