JAKARTA – Pasar Mobil Kemayoran in Jalan Industri Raya, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, was hit by a fire on Tuesday night (23/1/2024).
The incident was reported on Instagram by @merekamjakarta. According to the post, the fire broke out at around 10:30 PM.
In the uploaded video, residents showed the flames engulfing the commercial buildings in the area of Pasar Mobil Kemayoran. Firefighters were also seen attempting to extinguish the fire.
“The situation is still critical, the fire is getting higher,” said a resident in the video quoted on Tuesday night (23/1/2024).
The post mentioned that the burning objects were spare part shops. “The burning objects are the spare part shops. The fire is spreading rapidly due to the highly flammable materials,” the post stated.
Instagram account @humasjakfire reported that 33 fire trucks and 132 firefighters have been deployed to the scene.
“The process of localizing the fire propagation in the automotive spare part shops is still ongoing,” said a spokesperson.
