Mikel Arteta finally opened up about the potential of Kylian Mbappe leaving Paris Saint Germain (PSG) and joining Arsenal. He mentioned that when there are rumors about a player as talented as him, Arsenal should always be part of the conversation as a possible destination for the player.

“When a player of his caliber (Mbappe) is involved, Arsenal should always be part of that conversation. However, it seems that the situation is different now. That’s all I can say,” said Arteta in a press conference at the Sobha Realtu Training Centre, London, on Friday (16/2/2024).

Mbappe is reported to have informed PSG boss, Nasser Al Khelaifi, that he will not extend his contract with the Parisian team. The 25-year-old striker is rumored to be joining the Spanish giant, Real Madrid, after his contract with PSG expires.

Renowned journalist and international transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, revealed that Mbappe said his goodbyes to his teammates at PSG during a training session on Friday (16/2/2024). However, it is said that Mbappe did not mention where he will be heading next.

PSG coach, Luis Enrique, cannot provide certainty regarding the transfer of his protege at the end of the season. He only wants to speak after both parties (Mbappe and PSG) have made statements to the public.

“I don’t have any information to provide. I will not speak until both parties have made their statements. When they have spoken, then I will give a statement,” said Enrique as quoted from X @FabrizioRomano’s account, on Friday (16/2/2024).
