JAKARTA – Persija Jakarta coach, Thomas Doll, has given Rizky Ridho extra time off after representing the Indonesian National Team. This is to allow Rizky Ridho to meet his family.
Rizky Ridho left Persija Jakarta to join the national team’s training camp in Turkey. He also helped the Garuda Squad make history in the Asian Cup, as they qualified for the Round of 16 for the first time.
However, the Indonesian National Team failed to advance to the quarter-finals of the 2023 Asian Cup. The Garuda troops were eliminated in the Round of 16 after suffering a 0-4 defeat to Australia.
After representing the Indonesian National Team, Rizky Ridho has returned to join Persija Jakarta. The 22-year-old player has been training with Macan Kemayoran – the nickname of Persija Jakarta – at Nirwana Park, Bojongsari on Friday (2/2/2024).
Meanwhile, Thomas Doll stated that Rizky Ridho has been given more time off compared to Dony Tri Pamungkas. He explained that Rizky Ridho was allowed to meet his family after receiving one extra day off.
“After completing their duties with the national team, Ridho (Rizky) and Dony (Tri Pamungkas) immediately joined the others here. But I gave Ridho one extra day off because he hasn’t seen his family in Surabaya for a long time,” said Thomas Doll as quoted from Persija Jakarta’s official website.
“Today (2/2/2024), Ridho will arrive at Nirwana Park to have his first training with Persija in 2024,” he added.
Just like Rizky Ridho, Dony Tri Pamungkas is also a player from Persija Jakarta who was called up to the Indonesian National Team. However, he was called up to join the training camp with the Indonesian U-20 National Team.
Meanwhile, Dony Tri Pamungkas has already started training with Persija Jakarta after representing the Indonesian U-23 National Team. Although he hasn’t trained fully, Thomas Doll explained that the 19-year-old player will train as usual.
“Dony didn’t participate in full training yesterday because he had just finished training with the U-20 National Team. But after that, he will return to normal training,” he explained.
Persija Jakarta is currently preparing to return to the continuation of the 2023/2024 Liga 1 season. The Macan Kemayoran will visit the Segiri Samarinda Stadium on Tuesday (6/2/2024) to face Borneo FC.
