Sheryl Crow: “AI can do many things, but it can’t perform live”
Sheryl Crow is not afraid to speak her mind. The nine-time Grammy winner, known for hits like My Favourite Mistake and All I Wanna Do, has always been vocal about important issues like gun control and climate change. Now, she is turning her attention to Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The title track of her new album, Evolution, explores the impact of AI on society and the environment. Crow believes that AI is a “slippery slope” and a “betrayal” of humanity.

Her interest in AI was sparked after she met a young songwriter who used the technology to create music. Crow was shocked when she heard a song with an AI clone of country star John Mayer replacing the vocals. She believes that using AI to resurrect deceased artists, like Tupac Shakur, is disrespectful and “hateful”.

As a mother of two teenagers, Crow is concerned about the implications of AI on society. She worries about the spread of misinformation and the impact on the workforce.

Despite her concerns, Crow sees live music as a beacon of hope. She believes that as long as there are live performances and human creativity, all is not lost.

Crow recently completed a series of concerts in the UK, where she performed her classic hits. She reflects on her career, from starting out in a covers band to becoming a Grammy-winning artist. Despite facing challenges and setbacks, Crow’s passion for music has always driven her forward.
