jpnn.com – Arsenal player, Takehiro Tomiyasu, has complained about the schedule of the 2023 Asia Cup.

Tomiyasu himself will represent Japan in the Asian international football tournament.

The 25-year-old footballer believes that the schedule of the 2023 Asia Cup is not favorable for the players.

According to Tomiyasu, the tournament, which will take place in Qatar, will coincide with the ongoing league competitions in several European continents.

“I don’t know why we (referring to the 2023 Asia Cup) are playing in January, not only the Asia Cup, but also the AFCON (2023 Africa Cup of Nations),” said Tomiyasu, as quoted by the London Evening Standard on Wednesday.

Furthermore, Tomiyasu hopes that the Asia Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations can be rescheduled to the end of the domestic European competition season.

“I want the Asia Cup to be played in June, just like the Euro,” said Tomiyasu.
